Before he disappeared for twenty years, Terrence Malick made two films, Badlands and Days of Heaven. These films and his subsequent disappearance turned him into a myth. Interestingly, these two films are as much about myths and myth-making as they are about anything else.
On this episode of the Reel Spirituality Podcast, Elijah Davidson, Jessi Knippel, and Matthew Aughtry discuss these early Malick films and what, if anything, we can learn about myths and why we make them.
