049 RS Podcast What Puts the “Biblical” In Biblical Films?

A few weeks prior to the Noah‘s release, Darren Aronofsky called his film “the least biblical biblical film ever made.” This only added fire to the flames of controversy already swirling around the film. In all the hubbub, few seemed to ask what Darren Aronofsky—a Jewish man reported by many to be an athiest though according to him, his spirituality is more complicated than that—meant when he used the term “biblical” in reference to his film.

On this episode of the Reel Spirituality Podcast, guest host and filmmaker A.C. Neel, Fuller’s Director of Church Relations and Affiliate Professor of Theology and Culture Kutter Callaway, and Reel Spirituality Co-director Elijah Davidson discuss all the things the word “biblical” might mean when it’s used by various people. What does it mean to you?
