Reintroducing the Reel Spirituality Podcast

We are very excited to reintroduce the Reel Spirituality Podcast this week. Rather than focus on a single conversation for an hour or more each episode, we’ll be splitting each episode into three segments – The Story, The Sizzle, and The Study. You’ll find out more information about each segment on this introductory episode in our new format. We hope you enjoy it.

The films we’ll be watching and discussing for our Story segment in the coming ten weeks are:

The Birth of a Nation (2016)
Selma
Fruitvale Station
Ali
Devil in a Blue Dress
Do the Right Thing
Bush Mama
Cornbread, Earl and Me
Gone With the Wind
The Symbol of the Unconquered

The films we’re be watching and discussing for our Study segment in the coming ten weeks are:

Spider-Man
The Village
Margaret
The Dark Knight
Cloverfield
Shutter Island
The Avengers
Guardians of the Galaxy
Captain America: Winter Soldier
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice

We hope you’ll watch along with us and join the discussion on Twitter and Facebook.

The music in this episode is Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come” and the Marvel logo score from Spider-Man, which I’m pretty sure was written by Danny Elfman, since he scored that first Spider-Man film.

The theme music for our podcast is provided by Matt Lumpkin, whose music can be found here. If you are interested in subscribing to the Reel Spirituality podcast, follow this link to Apple or follow this link to Stitcher.
