Singleness in American Culture and Church | Christena Cleveland

Christena Cleveland

Christena Cleveland, associate professor of the practice of organizational studies at Duke University’s Divinity School, develops a picture of what it means to be single in the American church and suggests a theological affirmation of singleness.

“Singleness: Theology, Spirituality, and Practice” was a two-day conversation for church leaders — individuals, single and married — on the topic of singleness in the church. Led by social psychologist Christena Cleveland and hosted by Fuller Arizona, they explored what scripture says about the single life and considered how to celebrate singleness in all its dimensions.
