RS Podcast 001 – Inception and Certified Copy

What does Christopher Nolan’s big budget, action extravaganza Inception have in common with Abbas Kiarostami’s low budget, independent darling Certififed Copy?

On first glance, not much. But looking closer, they both ask the same question – What is real and how do we decide what is real? They just ask it in very different cinematic ways and, arguably, give different answers.

In this first episode of the Reel Spirituality Podcast, co-directors Eugene Suen and Elijah Davidson set the two films against each other in a no holds barred cinematic slugfest of critical and theological comparison.

Which film wins? Let us know in the comments.

On the next episode of the podcast, we’ll be discussing Stallone’s action extravaganza The Expendables and Lee Isaac Chung’s Munyurangabo. We invite you to watch them ahead of time, listen in to our conversation, and leave your take on the films in the comments.
