087 RS Podcast A Programmer, a Critic, and a Scholar Walk Into a Theater

We have a lot of good conversations with each other and with filmmakers when we attend Sundance each year as part of the Brehm Center Immersion class with the Windrider Film Forum (which you can attend even if you aren’t a Fuller Seminary student). This week, we’re sharing a conversation between Monika Moreno-Lapp, Elijah Davidson, and Rob Johnston, moderated by Kutter Callaway, about the different ways festival programmers, film critics, and scholars approach films. We think you’ll enjoy it.

Additionally, Monika Moreno-Lapp is the chief programmer for the Windrider International Student Film Festival, which is accepting submissions now for its inaugural year. The three grand prize include $10,000 for the Grand Jury Prize, $10,000 for the Best Documentary, and a $10,000 Cinematic Storytelling prize. All winniers will also receive an expense-paid trip to the Sundance Film Festival where the winning films will screen as part of the Windrider Film Forum.

The theme music for our podcast is provided by Matt Lumpkin, whose music can be found here. If you are interested in subscribing to the Reel Spirituality podcast, follow this link.
