+ Alex Awad, pastor and dean of students at Bethlehem Bible College, lectures on biblical resources for justice and reasons why Christians should be committed to peacemaking in the Middle East. Mark Labberton, president of Fuller Seminary, led Bible studies throughout the conference and interviewed Dr. Awad on a range of topics around the history of conflict, the role of theology, biblical peacemaking, and the deep need for Christ’s peace for individuals and across the region.
The mission of “Christ at the Checkpoint” is to challenge evangelicals to take responsibility for helping resolve the conflicts in Israel/Palestine by engaging with the teaching of Jesus on the kingdom of God. The fifth conference took place in Bethlehem March 7-10, 2016.
